Ziggo launching FTA sports channel

Dutch cable operator Ziggo is set to launch a new free-to-air sports channel, Ziggo Sport, on November 12th.
The channel will focus on major sporting events feature talk-shows, sports-related films and documentaries. The channel will offer a broad range of international and national sports, including football, motor racing, tennis, golf, basketball, hockey, rugby, volleyball and athletics.
Baptiest Coopmans, CEO of Ziggo, said that the launch of the channel had been made possible by the merger of UPC and Ziggo to create a single cable operator with national coverage.
