Most subscribers to Russia’s NTV Plus pay-TV bundles will pay more from February 1st, and some will see their costs rise “significantly” according to local reports.

NTV Plus’ transmissions from Eutelsat’s 36A and 36B satellites are directly affected. Subscribers living in Western Russia will see the costs of their ‘basic/entry’ tier of 22 channels now cost Rub 600 ($8.80) a month.  The premium ViaSat bundle, with its 7 channels, will stay the same at R 299. However, the increases will affect its popular sport bundles and other premium packages.

NTV Plus has about 850,000 subscribers, and its price rises follow similar moves at rivals Tricolor and Rostelcom.
