Netflix 5m LatAm subs
November 27, 2014
Netflix CEO Reed Hastings, speaking at a press event, revealed that the streaming service has surpassed five million subscribers in Latin America.
Netflix launched in the region in 2011 and initially had issues with payment methods in various territories, but has introduced gift-card and other new payment systems including branded products.
Hastings did not reveal how many were paying subscribers, but the total is a sizeable proportion of the company’s customer base outside of North America.
