November 17, 2014
1 Mainstream has partnered with CBS Interactive to launch CBSN, a live digital news network, across multiple connected TV devices. CBSN is a streaming news network that allows Internet-connected consumers to watch live, anchored news coverage across all digital platforms.
The 1 Mainstream platform provides CBSN with instant reach by delivering the network across multiple connected TV devices. CBSN is available 24/7 and features live, anchored coverage 15 hours each weekday, with original reporting on important national and global stories, coverage of live breaking news, and on-demand video from CBS News broadcast programmes.
“Rapid, widespread distribution to consumers with connected TV devices has been a critical part of our launch strategy and 1 Mainstream has been instrumental in helping us achieve that,” said Bill Martens, VP and General Manager of CBSNews.com.
“You only have to watch CBSN once to appreciate that this is the shape of things to come. OTT and traditional television are converging at an increasing pace,” added Rajeev Raman, 1 Mainstream’s CEO “The market is continually expanding, and we are excited to play a part in this emerging transformation.”
