ITV Player on Amazon Fire
November 13, 2014
UK commercial broadcaster ITV has revealed that the ITV Player app is now available on Amazon Fire tablets.
The app will enable viewers to access their favourite ITV programmes on the move, and is now available to download for free from the Amazon Appstore. The ITV Player app allows users to watch ITV’s channels live as well as access the last thirty days of ITV’s catch-up content across ITV, ITVBe, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4 and CITV.
According to Paul Kanareck, Director of Online and Brands at ITV, tablet devices are a significant driver of long form video requests for the ITV Player. “As second screens are increasingly becoming second TVs, we are delighted to offer an instant and immediate user experience to allow Amazon’s customers to spend more time with ITV’s fantastic content,” he added.
“We’re thrilled to welcome ITV Player to the Amazon Appstore,” said Steve Rabuchin, Vice President, Amazon Appstore. “ITV has delivered an innovative app that offers customers a great streaming experience, allowing them to enjoy the shows they love across our complete range of Fire tablets”.
