Google overhauls YouTube app
August 22, 2013
Google has updated its YouTube app for Android and iOS systems in a bid to bring the mobile experience in line with that of the desktop.
The redesigned interface allows users to swipe videos into the bottom right corner of the screen, allowing them to keep watching content whilst browsing the rest of the site.
Other new features include the introduction of playlists to mobile as well as the integration of the Cast button. The app now also allows users to queue videos, creating playlists on the move.
There’s also been an overhaul of the visual style including a new icon for the app (pictured).
