YouTube: 100 hours uploaded every minute
May 20, 2013
Google’s video-sharing giant YouTube has marked its eighth birthday by revealing that 100 hours of content is now uploaded every minute.
The YouTube blog says “When YouTube’s site first launched in May 2005, we never could have imagined the endless ways in which you would inspire, inform and entertain us every day. Today, more than 100 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute.”
YouTube now claims that over 1 billion users visit the site each month, equivalent to nearly half of all Internet users.
YouTube has recently announced that it will charge users for some channels.
