Viaplay selects Irdeto for OTT
July 5, 2012
Viaplay, the online pay-TV service in the Nordic region, has expanded its agreement with content security expert Irdeto with the deployment of Irdeto ActiveCloak for Media.
Viaplay is using Irdeto ActiveCloak to allow it to expand the range of devices from which consumers can view premium content, starting with the iPhone and iPad. With ActiveCloak protection, Viaplay is able to further establish itself as an OTT distributor for content owners, studios and rights holders. Working closely with Irdeto, smart TV and IPTV applications leader Accedo and hybrid OTT set-top box and middleware specialist Netgem, Viaplay has also now launched the first hybrid set-top box in Scandinavia to combine linear free-to-air broadcast and on-demand OTT content.
