Sky Sports app adds split-screen viewing
July 5, 2012
Ahead of the 2012 Formula 1 Santander British Grand Prix this weekend, the F1 companion experience on the Sky Sports for iPad app has added split-screen technology, meaning Sky customers can watch more of the action by selecting two live camera feeds simultaneously on the same screen. Viewers can choose from several different live video feeds including a driver’s camera, giving F1 fans more control and an even more immersive F1 experience.
David Gibbs, Director of Sky Sports Digital Media commented, “The Sky Sports for iPad app – which has already received more than half a million downloads – is yet another example of how Sky Sports continues to innovate to bring an even richer viewing experience to customers. The update to the Formula 1 companion experience will allow customers to get even more out of our Formula 1 coverage through innovative split-screen technology, which we also plan to introduce as part of our companion app experiences for other sports including football and golf later this year.”
