ITV2 drops iTunes Festival

ITV2 has axed coverage of the iTunes Festival after four years. Although the rights were relatively cheap and useful for advertising sales, coverage failed to pull in significant ratings for the channel. iTunes has reportedly suggested that it would have liked ITV2 to invest more money into the shows and increase its online support for the festival.
iTunes is said to be “confident” of finding another UK broadcast partner to air the event, which takes place across 31 nights throughout July at Camden’s Roundhouse, with potential candidates including E4 and Sky Arts.
