Adani Navbharat Developers launches Dharavi Didi AI assistant

July 23, 2026

Adani Navbharat Developers Private Limited, the SPV leading the Dharavi Redevelopment Project (DRP), has launched Dharavi Didi, an interactive AI companion designed to provide Dharavikars with instant and anytime access to verified project information.

As one of Asia’s largest urban redevelopment initiatives moves forward, many Dharavi residents continue to navigate a flood of information, making it difficult to distinguish verified facts from rumours and misinformation.

Designed through a simple, conversational and accessible interface, Dharavi Didi enables nearly a million Dharavikars to have direct and two-way communication – whether they seek answers about surveys, eligibility, documentation requirements, rehabilitation processes or project updates. Available 24×7 through Video calls, Voice calls and WhatsApp Chat, Dharavi Didi currently communicates in Hindi, Marathi and English, ensuring residents can access information in the language they are most comfortable with. Support for Tamil, Telugu and Gujarati will be introduced in future phases.

The platform derives its identity from the role it is designed to play. Just as an elder sister patiently guides and supports family members, Dharavi Didi has been designed with a human touch, to serve as a dependable companion for residents as they navigate their redevelopment journey.

Developed in partnership with YAAP Digital, with Weya AI as the technology partner, the platform combines conversational AI capabilities with multilingual interactions, voice-enabled accessibility and verified information frameworks to ensure residents receive timely, accurate and consistent responses whenever they need them. As the digital strategy and implementation partner, YAAP Digital conceptualised the resident engagement ecosystem, user journeys and overall platform experience, simplifying complex redevelopment information into intuitive, resident-friendly interactions. Weya AI powered the platform’s conversational intelligence, enabling multilingual conversations, voice-first engagement and scalable AI capabilities designed around accessibility, empathy and accuracy.

Ajay Kakar, Head – Corporate Branding, Adani Group, said: “In an age of information overload and misinformation, particularly on matters as personal and important as one’s home and future, trusted communication is more critical than ever. Dharavi Didi demonstrates how technology can be deployed not merely as an information tool, but as a bridge between institutions and communities. By combining AI with empathy and accessibility, we are creating a communication platform that empowers Dharavikars with verified information while making engagement more inclusive, responsive and human-centric. At its core, branding is about building trust, and trust is built through transparency, consistency and meaningful engagement – the fundamentals that have shaped Dharavi Didi.”

An ANDPL spokesperson added: “Dharavi Didi reflects our commitment to ensuring that every Dharavikar has easy access to verified information directly from official sources. Our teams engage extensively with residents on the ground every day and Dharavi Didi extends that support beyond physical interactions. Whether someone has a question late at night or needs information in their preferred language, trusted answers are now available in an instant.”

The launch also highlights the growing role of AI in public communication and citizen engagement. While artificial intelligence is increasingly being deployed across customer service and commerce, Dharavi Didi demonstrates its potential to drive large-scale social impact applications, helping communities navigate critical life transitions through reliable information and accessibility.

More than a technology deployment, Dharavi Didi represents a new approach to community engagement at scale, combining artificial intelligence with human-centric design to create a trusted and inclusive engagement experience.

As the project progresses, Dharavi Didi will continue to evolve with new capabilities, information services and language options, further strengthening communication, transparency and trust between Dharavikars and the project authorities.
