Al Jazeera wins French UEFA TV rights?

French financial newspaper Les Echos says that Qatar-based Al Jazeera Sports has – bizarrely – won the French broadcasting rights for the 2012-2015 Champions League football games. Al Jazeera outbid Canal Plus, says the newspaper.
Still to be sold, however, are the TV rights to 13 so-called premium Champions League games each year – including the final. TF1 owns the rights for this current season, and it is possible that Canal Plus could secure some, or all, of these 13 key games.
