Disney India to Reliance for $10bn?
October 24, 2023

Disney is in process of selling its India operations to Reliance Industries for around $10 billion (€9.43bn).
Disney has been exploring options to sell or find a partner and has held talks with several candidates, reports Bloomberg. But Disney now seems set on selling a controlling stake in the business to Reliance, the conglomerate whose streaming platform’s success has weighed on Disney’s performance in the subcontinent.
The enterprise value of the India business, Disney’s biggest last year globally by users, was seen at around $15 billion to $16 billion when Disney took over Fox’s business.
