Juniper expanded Media Flow solution
February 14, 2011
Juniper Networks has announced the expansion of its Media Flow portfolio with Mobile Video Optimisation, a solution that dramatically improves the economics of delivering video over mobile networks while revolutionising the user viewing experience. Juniper’s new Mobile Video Optimisation solution delivers intelligent caching, compression and transcoding to optimise mobile video flows. The solution enables mobile operators to confidently deliver premium video content to their subscribers and create new business opportunities.
Partnering with global software innovator Openwave Systems, Juniper’s Mobile Video Optimisation solution combines the Juniper Networks Media Flow Controller and the Service Delivery Gateway (SDG) running on its MX 3D Universal Edge Router with the Openwave Media Optimizer. The SDG provides a suite of rich services including Carrier Grade NAT, Firewall, Deep Packet Inspection, Application Load Balancing and Traffic Direct on a single platform to reduce latency, complexity and cost.
