Másmóvil to add Netflix, Sky and Prime Video
November 26, 2018
From David Del Valle in Madrid
Spain’s fourth largest telco, Másmóvil, is in negotiations to add Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Sky Spain’s OTT service to its TV offer from the beginning of 2019, according to El Español.
With this move, it aims to compete with Movistar, Vodafone and Orange and shed its ‘budget TV’ image with which it initially came to market with.
Másmóvil, first launched with Huawei, was a low cost TV offer ‘Agile TV’ using Android technology, and offering only the DTT channels. Now, the company is changing its business strategy adding the OTT platforms to capture more TV subscribers to its convergent packages.
