From David Del Valle in Madrid
The potential growth of Spain’s pay TV market will rocket in the next five years with a 47.2 per cent rise in the number of subscribers.
A report from PwC forecasts that 900,000 Spanish homes will subscribe to pay TV by 2022 reaching a total of almost 8 million pay TV households (currently there are 6.7 million pay TV subscribers).
The huge growth will bring together a 4.1 per cent increase in revenues to €2 billion. Most of the growth, 3.1 per cent, will be caused by TV and video streaming platforms along with the digital advertising and virtual reality.
