TiVo COO switches to Alexa
October 9, 2017
TiVo COO Pete Thompson is joining Amazon as VP Alexa Voice Services.
TiVo said CEO and president Tom Carson, who is also slated to retire, will assume the responsibilities while the company continues to search for a new CEO.
Thompson was at TiVo for one year having joined to manage the product integration of the combined Rovi and TiVo, after Rovi bought TiVo for US$1.1 billion in April 2016. Previously Thompson was senior vice president of Ericsson’s Mediaroom Business Group.
