June 9, 2026
DAZN, the sports streaming platform, has unveiled its enhanced in‑app experience for the FIFA World Cup 2026. DAZN has secured broadcast rights in Spain, Italy and Japan where fans can watch all 104 matches of the tournament live on DAZN, alongside instant replays, highlights, and unique World Cup features and content throughout the tournament.
Shay Segev, DAZN Group CEO, commented: “The FIFA World Cup 2026 is the pinnacle of global football, and securing rights in Spain, Italy and Japan underscores our ambition to bring the best of sport to audiences across the world. For the World Cup, we have created a unique proposition to fully immerse fans in the rivalries, emotion, stories and of course all the action.”
DAZN’s coverage will deliver viewing options across devices as well as giving fans more choice and control than ever throughout the tournament.
Sandeep Tiku, DAZN Group CTO, commented: “The FIFA World Cup 2026 is the perfect occasion to showcase the DAZN difference. Our technology is rapidly transforming the world of sports entertainment – bringing the best live viewing to fans but importantly going far beyond broadcast with immersive and interactive features that create an increasingly personalised experience.”
High dynamic range picture quality will showcase every detail of the match, from pitch texture to stadium lighting, with exceptional clarity. Dolby 5.1 audio will immerse fans in the atmosphere of the games, capturing the roar of the crowd and the intensity of every challenge. Commentary will be available in multiple languages, delighting fans across borders and cultures.
Multiview will allow users to watch up to four live matches simultaneously on one screen, ensuring no key moment is missed.
Additionally, in Japan, DAZN is introducing additional interactive viewing features, including the ability to vote for a player to be selected for a dedicated camera feed. Fans nationwide will also be able to watch matches from four angles at once, including player cameras from each team.
Beyond the live action, DAZN will bring together a global football community through FanZone, available exclusively on the DAZN app. Fans can take part in live chats, polls, quizzes, fan battles and a new World Cup game – Play, Bench, Sell – and share their reactions with other fans during matches. They can also chat live and connect directly with various football players during the tournament.
DAZN’s users can personalise their profile with custom avatars, favourite teams and status updates, while staying informed through match reminders, live scores, instant goal notifications, and detailed statistics through Scores. Meanwhile, News will give fans the stories that matter from across the tournament.
The World Cup kicks off on June 11th with Mexico taking on South Africa in the opening game.
