Forecast: Philippines mobile services revenue over $5bn in 2030

June 4, 2026

The total mobile services revenue in the Philippines is set to increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.6 per cent from $4 billion (€3.4bn) in 2025 to over $5 billion in 2030. This growth is predominantly anchored in mobile data services, with 5G networks serving as the primary catalyst, forecasts GlobalData, the intelligence and productivity platform.

GlobalData’s Philippines Mobile Broadband Forecast (Q1 2026) reveals that mobile voice service revenue will decline at a CAGR of 9.7 per cent between 2025 and 2030, in line with the drop in mobile voice average revenue per user (ARPU) levels.

Mobile data service revenue on the other hand will increase at a CAGR of 6 per cent between 2025 and 2030, in line with the projected growth in the adoption of higher-ARPU generating 5G services as operators expand their 5G networks in the country.

5G penetration levels will reach 77 per cent by the end of 2030, which can also boost the adoption of M2M/IoT services.

Kantipudi Pradeepthi, Telecom Analyst at GlobalData, commented: “The average monthly mobile data usage is forecast to increase from 8.9 GB in 2025 to about 15.3 GB in 2030, driven by the growing consumption of high-bandwidth online video services and data-intensive mobile gaming over smartphones, which encourages longer playtime and more frequent content updates over cellular networks.”

4G will remain the leading mobile technology by subscriptions in the Philippines until 2028. 5G subscriptions will surpass 4G subscriptions and go on to account for 61 per cent share of the total mobile subscriptions in 2030, driven by the sustained 5G network investments by mobile operators.

Globe Telecom extended its 5G coverage in May 2025, reaching 97.9 per cent of Mindanao and Visayas cities and 98.7 per cent of Manila metro. In March 2026, Globe continues to strengthen its footprint across Tarlac province with the expansion of its 5G network across 18 municipalities with an aim to deliver stronger, faster, and more reliable connectivity.

Pradeepthi concluded: “Globe Telecom led the mobile services market in terms of mobile subscriptions in 2025 and will continue to lead through 2030, followed by PLDT. Dito Telecommunity also aims to capture a larger market share by expanding its network footprint and offering competitive bundled plans. While the outlook remains positive, operators will need to balance rapid 5G expansion with the ongoing requirements around network quality, competitive pricing pressure, and ensure device affordability to accelerate migration across a wider base of users.”
