DAZN, the sports streaming platform, has agreed a multi-year rights partnership with Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC), the African mixed martial arts (MMA) organisation, expanding its global combat sports portfolio.

DAZN will broadcast EFC events free-to-view worldwide (excluding Sub-Saharan Africa and Poland).

The partnership launches with EFC 134, which takes place in Johannesburg, South Africa, headlined by a women’s flyweight championship bout between reigning champion Amanda ‘Mad Dog’ Lino and challenger Juliet Chukwu of Nigeria.

Also among the key matchups on the card is a flyweight contest between Sisa Jungula and Thapelo Seabi. Additional bouts include Tebatso Molele against Zimbabwe’s Lecture Gumbi, alongside contests featuring fighters from South Africa and across the region.

EFC 134 takes place on June 4th, with the preliminary card beginning at 15:00 local time. The main card follows at 19:00 at the World Sports Betting EFC Arena in Johannesburg. Following the event, DAZN’s users can look forward to a full calendar of EFC events for the rest of the year, which includes:

  • EFC 135: July 2nd
  • EFC 136: August 6th
  • EFC 137: September 10th
  • EFC 138: October 8th
  • EFC 139: November 5th
  • EFC 140: December 3rd

Shay Segev, DAZN Group CEO, commented: “DAZN is the global home of sport, and alongside enhancing our portfolio of top-tier fight sport content this partnership with EFC also reflects our commitment to supporting fast-growing sports. We are helping EFC expand their global reach and introduce elite African MMA to fans around the world.”
