Backscreen powers Tet TV+ with with cross-gen UX

May 18, 2026

Tet – the leading telco in Latvia – has relaunched its consumer Tet TV+, based on the Backscreen OTT platform. The update provides a new cross-gen interface, combining Live TV and on-demand navigation in a single flow. Designed for multi-screen use, it enables seamless transitions between TV, mobile, and web, while facilitating content discovery.

The update brings a simplified interface following the contemporary OTT design guidelines. The content discovery is improved, facilitating search and quicker access to premium content. It features supererogation of 3rd party content, covering HBO and Netflix. It also delivers a point-based subscription model. The content layout as well as look&feel of the applications can be managed from the backend in real time, without engaging engineering.

A key part of the Backscreen platform is cross-gen UX. It provides viewing experience across the screens in a way relevant to the three ways people consume video content. Aside from the portal experiences, the cross-gen UX revaluates Live TV. It also brings vertical video in the focus, extending the experience beyond the big screen into formats that better reflect how viewers watch today. Cross-gen UX maximizes audience reach driving both revenues and user satisfaction.

“Our goal was to strike the right balance between customer needs and simplicity, focusing on features that truly add value. The new Tet+ app is a significant evolution – from design to content discovery – shaped in close collaboration with the Backscreen team to reflect both user insights and business priorities. We believe it sets a new standard for entertainment experience. See you on the screen,” commented Agnese Ķīsīte, Tet+ platform owner.

Mikus Narvils, Product Owner at Backscreen, added: “Building Tet+ meant reworking the experience into something more streamlined and intuitive across every screen. Live TV and on-demand content now work together in one flow, making it easier to navigate and easier to manage behind the scenes. The result is a smoother, more connected service that fits the way people watch today.”
