Mediakom member operators Deploy CryptoGuard CAS
April 13, 2026
Mediakom, the association representing small and medium-sized telecommunications operators in Poland, has announced the deployment of the CryptoGuard Conditional Access System (CAS) across its member networks. The initiative enables local operators to build flexible and competitive pay-TV offerings in a highly saturated Polish market, where Pay TV penetration has exceeded 80 per cent, as discussed during the VideoWars by ScreenLovers conference.
“If the speakers at VideoWars are right and the Polish Pay TV market has exceeded 80 per cent penetration, Mediakom-associated operators can still build competitive programming offers without technological constraints thanks to the implementation of CryptoGuard CAS,” said Krzysztof Wieczorek, Sales Director CEE & CIS at CryptoGuard AB.
CryptoGuard CAS is a robust and scalable solution designed to protect digital television content. The system can be seamlessly extended with CryptoGuard multiDRM, enabling the encryption of both linear and non-linear content within a unified security ecosystem. This architecture is particularly valuable for operators delivering services across DVB, IPTV, and OTT platforms while maintaining consistent security standards.
“The business model negotiated by Mediakom makes it possible even for the smallest operators to implement a professional conditional access system,” said Krzysztof Kacprowicz, President of Mediakom and owner of a local network operator in the Warmia and Mazury region. “Each operator can run its own independent encryption system without technological limitations.”
Kjell Carlswärd, CEO of CryptoGuard AB, added: “CryptoGuard has been active in the Polish market since 2013. We are pleased to see operators migrating toward proven business and technological solutions such as CryptoGuard. Our mission is to empower operators of all sizes with secure, scalable, and future-proof content protection.”
