March 13, 2026
James Dickens will make the first defence of his WBA Super Featherweight World Championship against Anthony Cacace on March 14th. The clash takes place at the 3Arena in Dublin, with the full fight card to be broadcast live worldwide on DAZN.
Dickens (36-5, 15 KOs) captured the WBA Interim Super Featherweight Title with a fourth-round stoppage of Olympic gold medalist Albert Batyrgaziev in 2025. The 34-year-old Liverpudlian has rebuilt his career through resilience and determination, and now prepares to make the first defence of the world title.
“Becoming a champion, it doesn’t change a lot. You still have to go in there and win your own title back.” Dickens said.
On facing Anthony Cacace in Dublin, he added: “Watching the videos I was very impressed by his style of boxing, so we’re going to adapt to his skills, but we’re pretty excited and all looking forward to it. It’s great to be back in Dublin, it feels like home, and it’s great to be part of something new.”
Cacace (24-1, 9 KOs) brings elite pedigree and momentum into the contest as a former IBF Super Featherweight World Champion and one of the most experienced fighters in the division. The Belfast native has enjoyed an impressive run of victories over world-class opposition including Joe Cordina, Josh Warrington and Leigh Wood, cementing his reputation as a genuine force on the world stage. Now, the 36-year-old aims to become a two-time world champion when he challenges Dickens.
Cacace said: “It’s another great opportunity presented to me, to become a two-time world champion. I’m raring to go. If I win this title, I can go down as one of Ireland’s greatest ever fighters, and that’s what’s motivating me.”
Across the pond, in Anaheim, California, undefeated contender Arnold Barboza Jr faces Kenneth Sims Jr in a crucial Super Lightweight showdown broadcast live on DAZN. The high-stakes contest sees two of the division’s top contenders collide, with the winner moving a major step closer to world title contention.
