Paramount+ announces UK original The Revenge Club

Paramount+ UK & Ireland has announced the commission of new original UK thriller-mystery series The Revenge Club (w/t), with Aimée-Ffion Edwards and Martin Compston set to star in the lead roles of Emily and Calum.
The Revenge Club is a darkly witty and gripping thriller based on the upcoming debut novel The Othello Club by J.D. Pennington. The series follows six strangers brought together by a divorce support group, each reeling from betrayal and heartbreak, who quickly transform from therapy-seeking victims into architects of exquisite retribution. With little in common beyond their pain, they form an unlikely bond, and a pact that will change their lives. What begins as a cathartic outlet quickly spirals into something far more dangerous, and as the group’s acts of revenge escalate from mischievous pranks to deadly ‘accidents’, the line between justice and murder begins to blur.
Joining Edwards and Compston as the other members of the Club are BAFTA and Emmy Award Winner Meera Syal as Rita, Sharon Rooney as Rachel, Douglas Henshall as Steve, Chaneil Kular as Tej and Amit Shah as Malcolm. Also joining the cast are Aoife Kennan and Rob Malone as Rosa and Leon – the two police officers investigating the murders – along with Niamh Walsh, Wil Coban, Christina Bennington and Eoin Duffy.
Alison Jackson and Jess Connell executive produce for the UK division of Gaumont. Outside the UK & Ireland, the series is produced by Gaumont in association with Fremantle, who also handle international sales.
The series has been created for television by Gabbie Asher who also serves as an Executive Producer alongside J.D. Pennington, with episodes written by Matt Jones and Adam Usden. Rights were acquired from Rosie Gurtovoy at PFD. Tim Kirkby is the lead director alongside Daniel O’Hara and Margot Gavan Duffy serves as the producer.
The Revenge Club was commissioned by Sebastian Cardwell, Deputy Chief Content Officer, UK, and Paul Testar, Commissioning Editor, for Paramount+ UK & Ireland.

The production of The Revenge Club has commenced, and the series will be available exclusively on Paramount+ UK & Ireland. Fremantle is handling international sales. Rights were acquired from Rosie Gurtovoy at PFD.
