Google introduces ‘Ask for Me’: The AI assistant redefining convenience

Did you know Google’s currently testing out this new AI-based tool called ‘Ask for Me’? It basically lets users chat with companies in a more automated way – so that they can get all the details they need – like the price and availability for whatever they’re after. But there’s more to it than that, as it can also record appointments.
Yet it’s fair to say that the tool is pretty basic at the moment. It’s just still in development, and at the somewhat early stage. Thus, at the current moment, it only supports searching for nail salons and car repair shops.
How It Works and How to Maximise Its Potential
Consumers can try out the Ask for Me feature through Google Search Labs.
When using Google to find nail salons or auto repair shops in local areas, a little footnote will pop up in the results. Click on it and the system will ask users some questions to find out more.
So, for example, if they’re looking for an auto repair shop, the AI tool will ask for info about the car’s make and model, the type of service required (like an oil change or tire change), and their preferred date and time for the appointment. Also, it’ll ask for contact details, like an email address or phone number, so it can keep users updated on the request. This one might seem like a privacy issue, but unfortunately there’s no other choice for now, and it’s hard to imagine it even appearing on full release.
Overall, the assistant could be a good solution for any business when it becomes available to everyone. And yes, it’s primarily designed to make it easier for customers to interact with companies, yet companies will also benefit by being able to attract more customers.
The thing is, many give up interacting with this or that company when they have to make a phone call – this is either because laziness or shyness. Still, not everything can be found on the company’s website in a way that’s easy to read, which is why this whole thing might be astonishingly useful.
But this one is what only time will tell.
However, what is definitely useful for your just now business, is building and properly implementing affiliate programs. In a nutshell, this is a kind of business cooperation between a seller and partners when marketing some goods or providing services.
