Veset adds Dolby 5.1 audio for cloud playout
April 5, 2023

Veset, a wholly owned subsidiary of Play., now supports Dolby Audio for its cloud playout solution, Veset Nimbus.
With this implementation, Veset Nimbus users can deliver live and on-demand channels with high quality surround sound to enhance the experience. Channels will have higher quality audio with enhanced clarity, detail, and depth. Background noise and distortion will be reduced for a cleaner sound, and dialogue clarity will be improved. Veset Nimbus users delivering channels to a range of devices will benefit from the wide array of devices with Dolby Audio such as TVs, smartphones, gaming consoles, as well as streaming services. Veset Nimbus customers will also benefit from better compression through Dolby Audio that reduces the size of audio files without compromising on quality, making it easier to stream or store high quality audio. Gatis Gailis, CEO at Veset, commented: “Audiences have come to expect the very best quality video and audio on any device and for every type of content. We knew that the best quality sound would mean implementing Dolby Audio with our playout solution. Having reached this milestone, we can now ensure an enhanced experience for viewers.”
