March 22, 2022
Antoine Fuqua, along with his production house Hill District Media, has signed an overall deal with Paramount. Fuqua will work with MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios to create and develop scripted and unscripted content for the company.
Fuqua is the executive producer of the Paramount+ drama Mayor of Kingstown, from creator Taylor Sheridan, which launched in November and has ranked as the top original scripted drama on the Paramount+ streaming platform.
“Developing a continued partnership with Paramount & 101 Studios is a huge honour and I am looking forward to working together on a new slate of projects,” Fuqua commented. “They are great partners to work with on Mayor of Kingstown and share in the vision of what’s to come for Hill District Media.”

“From Training Day to South Paw, and now Mayor of Kingstown, Antoine is one of the greats,” added Chris McCarthy, CEO at Paramount Media Networks and MTV Entertainment Studios. “We are thrilled to expand our partnership with him and have MTV Entertainment Studios as his new TV home.”
Fuqua also served as an executive producer on Fox’s The Resident, and recently directed and executive produced What’s My Name: Muhammad Ali for HBO.
