E3 will return this year as a virtual event. The event is normally held in Los Angeles each June and is acknowledged as the biggest spectacle of the year for the video games sector attracting a mix of developers, press and the general public.
Last year’s event was completely cancelled as a result of the pandemic. E3 now says that its planned June 12th-15th event is being re-invented as a free, “reimagined, all-virtual” event. Next year E3 is expected to once again feature in-person attendace.
Organisers announced that the 2021 virtual line-up includes companies such as Nintendo, Microsoft, Capcom, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, and Warner Bros Games.
Noticeable absentees from the list currently include Sony, Activision-Blizzard, EA, Sega, Bandai and Square Enix.
