In a new move to bet on TV series to boost subscriptions, Vodafone Spain will include Acorn TV in its OTT from November 3rd. The VoD service, from AMC Networks, specialises in British TV series and English-speaking content.
TAcorn TV will be for free during November and €3.99 a month thereafter. Vodafone subscribers will have access to a wide catalogue of TV series with content from UK, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and Canada.
Meanwhile, Euskaltel’s subsidiary for the national Spanish market, Virgin Telco, has reached an exclusive agreement with Netflix to launch ‘Netflix Fan’ in the country that enables subscribers to access to all Netflix content and an extra 10Gbytes data for free during the first six months as a promotional offer.
Virgis subscribers will be able to access Netflix pressing a button on the remote control with the service available on all devices (up to four). After the promotional period, subscribers will have to pay according to the chosen plan. There are three options:
– Netflix Fan Básico: One device on SD definition and an extra 10 Gigabytes for mobile lines at €8 a month
– Netflix Fan Estándar: 2 devices on HD and an extra 10 Gigabytes for €12 a month
– Netflix Fan Premium: 4 devices on UHD and 10 Gigabytes for €16 a month.
