Spain: FTTH tops 10m lines

FTTH reached 10 million lines in Spain at the end of November 2019, according to telecommunications market data published by competition and markets watchdog the Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia (CNMC).
Movistar accounted for 42.8 per cent of the total FTTH lines, with a total of 4.3 million lines. Eighty-six per cent of total lines are concentrated in the three main operators, Movistar, Orange (including Jazztel) and Vodafone (including ONO).
Mobile connections rose by 92,000 in November 2019. The month ended with a figure of 54.23 million mobile lines, which is 1.6 per cent more than a year previously.
The three main operators accounted for 77.9 per cent of the total mobile lines in the market.
In November 2019, the total number of fixed lines increased by 36,000, closing the month with a total of 19.27 million lines.
