Comcast buys Metrological

Comcast has bought Netherlands-based app developer Metrological, it has emerged at IBC. Metrological is a major developer of apps for OTT platforms and their integration with pay-TV. It has done much development for Comcast and Liberty Global cable across Europe.
The Metrological Application Platform delivers a product suite for onboarding and managing apps across set-top boxes. The company says content providers are able to reach over 40 million households across operator networks by uploading a single app onto the Metrological App Library.
The company has been a major player in RDK the integration stack originally developed by Comcast. Other Metrological customers include KPN, Nos, beIN, Tele Columbus and Ooredoo.
The value of the transaction has not been released.
