US viewers watching the England v Croatia World Cup semi-final on YouTube TV were left with a black screen when the service went down in the middle of the match.  The outage also disrupted viewing of a men’s quarter-final match at Wimbledon.

YouTube apologised, acknowledging “the timing is horrible”. Service was resumed half an hour later, the firm said.

Back in May the service blacked out during a key NBA match between The Cavs and The Knicks.
