From David Del Valle in Madrid
Orange Spain will next week launch Orange Series, the first 4K TV series channel in Spain, with content available on both linear and VoD.
The channel will be available to subscribers of the Cine y Series package (€9.95 a month) at no extra cost, and will also include advanced functionalities such as ‘Start Over’ and ‘Last 7 Days catch-up’.
To mark the launch, Orange Spain has signed an agreement with Sony Pictures TV to debut TV series Snatch in the country. Other TV series including House of Cards, Better Call Saul, Community, Breaking Bad, Masters of Sex and The Blacklist will be available in ultra-HD through VoD.
Orange is focusing on increasing 4K content in a bid to gain subscribers in Spain’s competitive pay-TV market.
