CES goes dark in the rain
January 11, 2018
No expo in the world relies on power more than CES so it was particularly embarrassing when it was plunged into darkness yesterday. The lights – and everything else – were off for two hours. Attendees were evacuated.
The Las Vegas Convention Center central hall went dark at around 11:20 local time (19:20 GMT). Organisers blamed an earlier downpour.
Given how much vendors pay for booths, it will certainly add a twist to the rebooking conversations.
