5,000 ‘small’ satellites to launch in next 10 years

Some 5000 smallish satellites are forecast to be launched in the next decade, according to data in a report (Small Satellite Markets, 4th Edition) from Northern Sky Research (NSR). While some will have science and Earth observation tasks, the majority will be for communications, says NSR.
