Atresmedia sets up TV content production company

Atresmedia, operator of Antena 3 and La Sexta, has created Atresmedia Studios to go deeper into the TV content business. The studio will produce TV content to and seek to sell it on both national and interntional pay-TV platforms.
With the move, Atresmedia positions TV production as “our core business regardless of the distribution platform”, said Silvio González, CEO of Atresmedia. Atresmedia claims to lead in the sale of Spanish TV productions internationally.
Its International TV channels have increased subscriber numbers by 400 per cent, reaching some 10 million homes in Latin America, USA and Europe with its channel Atreseries Internacional.
