London-based facility and playout specialist ABS Broadcast has secured a downlink and service contract from Ghana’s Ziptv IPTV platform. Ziptv is transmitting a bundle of channels including AMC Movies, AMC Series, CNN, BBC News and others.
The OTT Ziptv platform is part of Broadband Home Ltd, Ghana’s first Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) provider. Broadband Home Ltd trades under the brands Zipnet, Ziptv and Ziptel.
Emmanuel Antwi Kwarteng, Executive Director at Zipnet, says that “ABS Broadcast has enabled our new platform to provide our customers with a wide variety of popular in-demand content. We’re very satisfied with this service; the project set up was very smooth and seamless.”
The Ziptv IPTV streaming platform provides customers with linear television, transactional VoD, subscription VoD and STB entertainment packages. The content is a mixture of international blockbuster movies and popular television series, with a large offering of African content.
The complete IPTV service will start this month and carry more than 50 channels.
