Spain to approve new DTT migration
November 10, 2016
From David Del Valle in Madrid
Spain’s recently-formed administration is set to approve a new DTT migration plan before June 30 2017.
The minister of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda, Alvaro Nadal, will be responsible for paving the way to release the 700 MHz band, now used by DTT operators, for advanced mobile services between 2017 and 2020 or 2022 in case of a delay.
It will be the second digital dividend and will oblige Spaniards to change their aerials or retune their TV sets.
Back in 2015, Spaniards already had to retune their aerials in the so-called first digital dividend.
