San Francisco-based Grand View Research (GVR) is forecasting that India is “poised to emerge as a lucrative market for Ultra-HD STBs with the country expected to witness a CAGR substantially higher than the regional (Asia Pacific) average.
GVR’s India office in Pune contributed to the research, and says several DTH operators such as Tata Sky, Videocon, and Airtel have launched 4K STBs and are attempting to achieve a higher rural penetration with affordable regional packages.
The GVR study says that India will lead the 4K charge as far as APAC markets are concerned, and will enjoy a “high growth” over the next eight years.
