France: Catch-up Pluzz exits connected TVs
July 12, 2016
From Pascale Paoli-Lebailly in Paris
Catch-up TV service France TV Pluzz, operated by French PSB Group France Télévisions, will no longer be available on connected TV sets after July.
The service will remain on a dedicated website as well as on mobile devices, tablets and smartphones.
This is part of the group’s strategy to reorganise its digital TV services ahead of the launch in March 2017 of its new VoD-SVoD portal.
France Télévisions’ president Delphine Ernotte made the decision to stop connected TV services and apps such as Francetvzoom, and notably all those smart TV and HbbTV directly accessible from the channels. France Télévisions wants to give priority to apps available from the IPTV boxes of the operators.
