Hulu Japan, Starz expand distribution deal

HJ Holdings (Hulu in Japan) and Starz Digital, the global digital and on-demand licensing arm of Starz, have announced an expansion of their STARZ Original series content licensing agreement. Hulu in Japan has acquired the SVoD rights to premiere the popular series, Ash vs Evil Dead, based on the classic horror film, The Evil Dead and seasons 1 and 2 of drama series, Power.
This new deal follows a licence of the STARZ Original series Black Sails by Hulu in Japan from Starz Digital in January 2016. Black Sails quickly became a top-three performing series for the Japanese SVoD service.
