Mexico: Televisa pulls content from Netflix
March 14, 2016
Mexican TV group Televisa has confirmed it is removing all it content from Netflix in order to keep the content exclusively for its own VoD platform, Blim, that will launch later this year.
“Televisa content will be exclusively for Blim; that’s our strategy,” said Blim’s director general, Carlos Sandoval in an interview with Forbes.
There are currently 17 players in the crowded Mexico OTT market, including the likes of HBO, Netflix and Clarovideo.
