Disney SVoD for UK
October 21, 2015
Disney is to launch a subscription service next month in the UK. The SVoD service – DisneyLife – will also stream books and music alongside movies and TV shows.
Classic titles such as Snow White, Jungle Book, and Cinderella, along with Pixar’s entire catalogue and the archive of Disney Channel shows will all be available.
“This is the future, in many respects,” Disney’s chief executive, Bob Iger told the FT. “We’re seeing more and more opportunities to reach consumers directly and not through middlemen, and we’re seeing consumers wanting product in different ways.”
Content will be available to download offline.
DisneyLife will cost £9.99 a month, and content will be available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. The service will not be available outside the UK, but plans to make it available in the US have not been ruled out.
