Three phrases seem to obsess TV technology experts just at the moment: High Dynamic Range (HDR), Wider Colour Gamut (WCG) and Higher Frame Rates (HFR). By and large the various broadcasting standards bodies are working towards a clutch of agreed specifications to fully embrace the snappy acronyms.
The bad news is that there are competing technology companies looking to see their solutions adopted as ‘the’ standard, especially for HDR and WCG.
