Comcast readies Watchable UGC platform

Comcast is reportedly preparing to launch a new video platform branded ‘Watchable’, which will aim to take on the likes of YouTube and DailyMotion.
Business Insider reports that Comcast is gearing up to launch its “major new video platform” in the coming weeks and has already teamed up with heavyweight players for content – including Buzzfeed, The Onion, Vox, Refinery29, Vice, AwesomenessTV and NBC Sports among others
“The content from the publishers will be bundled and curated for Comcast’s Xfinity X1 box owners,” say the reports, adding that the Watchable service will be on iOS and Android platforms later on.
