From David Del Valle in Madrid
Al Jazeera-owned channel beIN Sports is launching on OTT in Spain following an agreement with TotalChannel, the Spanish online TV platform purchased by Mediapro last year.
The UEFA Champions League and Europe League, together with the Premier League, Serie A and Copa Libertadores will be available through computers and connected devices, via totalchannel.com and the platforms’ app for iOS, Android, Microsoft, Samsung and LG smart TVs, PlayStation 3 and 4, and Chromecast.
Totalchannel offers subscriptions for around €10 per month with no extra charge for content or a set-top box. In addition, subscriptions are renewed month by month with no contract.
In addition to beIN Sports, TotalChannel offers pay-TV channels including FOX, AXN, TNT and National Geographic.
beIN Sports has already secured its presence on Vodafone TV, Orange TV, Telecable and is still negotiating with Telefonica.
