Spain: Pay-TV ARPU falls 6.3%

Spanish households spent 6.3 per cent less on pay-TV in 2014 with an ARPU of €25.6 against €30 in 2013 and €29 in 2012. The latest figures from Ontsi, the Spanish Observatory of Telecommunications reveal that in the last quarter of 2014, households spent €253 million on pay-TV, down €159 million the same period last year with a year-on-year fall of 5.5 per cent
Pay-TV penetration amounted to 21.9 per cent with 49.1 per cent of pay TV homes in the country claiming to be not satisfied with the service. The most popular TV devices at home are TFT and plasma TV sets available in 80.5 per cent of homes.
