Telenor Satellite Broadcasting’s (TSBc) giant Thor-7 satellite is again ready for launch. The important launch readiness review was successful on April 22nd, and the go-ahead given to Arianespace to launch the satellite late in the afternoon of April 24th. The launch window opens (Paris time) at 9.38pm and closes at 11.32pm (Kourou-time 4.38-6.32pm).
Arianespace’s web-site will carry a video of the launch from 15 minutes prior to launch.
This is the first launch of the year by Ariane of its Ariane-5 rocket, which will also carry an Italian military satellite (SICRAL-2) built by Telespazio.
THOR-7 will go to TSBc’s hot spot at 1 degree West and join the rest of the Telenor fleet of satellites, and provide much-needed growth for the satellite operator.
