March 4, 2015
NBCUniversal is planning to launch a comedy-based subscription video on demand service later this year. It is designed to appeal to viewers aged under 35 who are opting out of linear TV. Comedy is seen as a genre that appeals to those younger viewers.
The WSJ says the NBCU service might include episodes of NBC’s The Tonight Show and Saturday Night Live, and that it might cost $2.50 to $3.50 per month.
