Visitors to Malaysia’s Asia Broadcasting Union’s ‘DBS’ show (Digital Broadcasting Symposium) in Kuala Lumpur (March 3-6) will see a pair of Ultra-HD channels transmitted from a Measat satellite using DVB-2SX. The signals will also be converted and transmitted terrestrially via DVB-T2 signals throughout the exhibition.
Visitors will also be able to see 8K transmissions from a test by Japan’s NHK public broadcaster.
The satellite transmission from Measat will be received via a 3m mesh-type receive antenna to be installed by Total Communication Sdn. Bhd. on the show’s rooftop at Hotel Istana.
“Measat is excited to be part of another innovative technical demonstration that presents an enhanced broadcasting solution to our customers,” said Jarod Lopez, VP/Broadcast Sales, Measat. “Customers using this solution will have greater bandwidth efficiency to launch and distribute 4K channels on Measat’s satellites.”
